
Robin Gunkel
Creator, Executive Director
Robin Gunkel is the Creator and Director of Mushroom City Art Festival, first conceived in 2012 and held in fall 2013. Through her work with Mushroom City, Robin was inspired to pursue a PhD in Sustainability Education with Prescott College, and she also holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Naropa University. Robin has recently been hired as an academic advisor at MICA, and she has been a community organizer in Baltimore since 2009 where she has been working as a coordinator for Bloom Baltimore, a social and mobilization network for regenerative planetary culture. Robin has also lived and taught abroad in Japan and studied in Northern Ireland. She is currently most passionate about how social networks can work beside forest networks to support both social and ecological justice.

ryanSmith
Organizer
ryanSmith helped organize the Mushroom City Art Festivals at Leakin Park (2015 & 2016). He is a multimedia artist from Baltimore, Maryland. Currently, Smith works professionally as an installation artist, freelance photographer, web designer, graphic designer, musician, and video specialist. After receiving his undergraduate degree in Graphic Design from Towson University, he attended the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) to earn an MFA in Photographic & Electronic Media, an MA in Digital Art, and a teaching certificate. He is currently an adjunct professor. He teaches Foundations and Digital Art +Design related courses at Towson University.

Daniel Shankin
Design, Counsulting
Daniel has been working with events and communities that motivate the evolution of consciousness since the late 1990s, when he help pioneer live web streaming for a psychedelic concert series that included performances by The Merry Pranksters, and The Zen Tricksters. Since then he has owned Philadelphia’s Shivaya Yoga Studio, and co-founded conferences such as the Psychedemia Conference, the Psilocybin Summit, and CryptoPsychedelic. He currently has a mindfulness based psychedelic integration coaching practice in the Bay Area called Tam Integration.

Mukul Ranjan
Event Photographer
Mukul is a photographer who spends his time between Washington DC and Baltimore. He is fascinated by the world around him and tries to share his wonder and joy about it through his photographs. Mukul grew up in India but has spent most of his life in the US. In another dimension, Mukul works in Medical Research and has a special interest in alleviating the global disease burden due to infectious disease.
